Brett Bonthron
Brett Bonthron is an Adjunct Professor at the USF School of Business and Management. Brett is a member of the USF Entrepreneurship Program and a previous judge at the USF International Business Plan Competition.
 
Brett works for Microsoft in Silicon Valley.  At Microsoft, his role is to maintain relationships with Senior Business Executives proving the Business Value of Microsoft solutions. Several of the customers Brett works closely with include HP, Electronic Arts, Informatica, nvidia, ebay, Applied Materials, SanDisk, Xilinx, Yahoo, Google and other Silicon Valley icons. Brett is also a thought leader and frequent speaker inside Microsoft, relied upon for his business analytical and strategic skills. He is also called on frequently to speak to Executive MBAs from University of San Francisco and it’s international affiliates about Microsoft’s business.
 
Prior to Microsoft, his professional career focused on management consulting and Start-ups. Brett’s management consulting experience includes Accenture, CSC Index, DiamondCluster, and the McKenna Group – focused on building strategic growth agendas with CEOs. In start-ups, Brett has served as CEO, COO, VP of Operations, VP of Business Development, and Partner in 4 ventures based in the Bay Area and Atlanta.  His most recent venture raised $20M in Series A financing and was featured in Forbes Magazine. Brett has authored articles on Corporate Venturing and Innovation. He holds a Masters of Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University; and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.



Christina Dehler, Ph.D.
Christina Dehler received her Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Concordia University in 2001. She has served as a faculty member in the Department of Education at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona for six years, teaching courses and supervising master’s projects, theses, and doctoral dissertation research, in the Educational Multimedia and Educational Technology Leadership programs. She currently holds a faculty position in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University where she teaches courses in the Educational Technology and Learning Design graduate programs.

Christina has participated in a variety of educational technology projects with K-12 schools and institutions of higher education in the United States, Canada and Mexico. She co-authored the 2003 State of California K-12 Education Technology Master Plan, a document produced by the Commission on Technology and Learning for the California State Board or Education. She has worked with the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization FODEPAL project as an online teaching and learning specialist and instructional design consultant. Christina’s research focuses on computer-mediated learning environments, online teaching and learning, faculty development in the areas of technology integration and pedagogy, and educational technology program assessment.


Christian J. Thompson, Ph.D.
Dr. Thompson has been on faculty as an Exercise Physiologist in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science since 2002. He is originally from Foxborough, Massachusetts and he did his undergraduate work at Cornell University, graduating with a BS in Atmospheric Science. Once he pulled his head out of the clouds, he completed his MS in Exercise Science at University of Oklahoma, followed by his Ph.D. in Exercise Science at the University of Kansas.

At USF, Dr. Thompson is engaged in exercise programming research for older adults. He developed the Senior Center Active Living Education (SCALE) program, funded through Western Athletic Clubs, Inc., which implements physical activity and health promotion programs at several senior centers in San Francisco. Additionally, Dr. Thompson has authored numerous scientific publications on exercise programming for older adults and has developed an exercise training manual for the American Association for Active Lifestyles and Fitness entitled: Developing an Exercise Program for the Frail and Well Elderly. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Council of Aging and Adult Development, and is an active member of the Special Interest Group on Aging for the American College of Sports Medicine. He is a highly sought after speaker and has presented workshops and lectures both nationally and internationally.

Additionally, Dr. Thompson holds two prominent certifications in the health and fitness field through the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He trains many clients, particularly older adults and competitive golfers in order to improve fitness and performance. He has consulted with health clubs and physical therapy clinics to develop functional training programs specific to older adults and competitive golfers.

Outside of his day job, Dr. Thompson is an avid golfer, having competed in two USGA qualifying events for the Mid-Amateur championship. His dissertation research was an eight-week conditioning program for older male golfers. The study was awarded the 2002 Science in Golf Prize and was presented at the World Scientific Congress of Golf meeting in Scotland in July of 2002.

He and his wife, Andrea, are enjoying San Francisco with their two dogs, Cleo and Suzie.



Bill Mcilwain
Bill founded and led several start up companies, including Pagoda Corporation where he was the CEO and led the sale of the company to Continuus Software (now Telelogic), and Project 1918 where he was the CFO. Bill brings proven expertise in strategy, marketing, operations, finance and legal affairs. Currently, Bill is working on a new business for group travel. Prior to Pagoda, Bill was Vice President of Business Development at Aithent and managed the Canadian Export Trading Desk at Enron Canada in the mid 90s. Bill holds an MBA from Kellogg and a BA from Dartmouth College.


Adam Waskow
Adam Waskow has been an avid cyclist for many years and currently competes at master’s level, riding for the local team “Korvarus/Squadra Ovest” in Northern California. 

Adam is a USA cycling coach, Johnny-G certified spin instructor and an Associate Coach at Whole Athlete in San Anselmo, California. Whole Athlete is a nationally recognized performance center and coaching facility that works with varying levels of athletes from the professional level to the enthusiast. He is also the Group Cycling Coordinator for the Bay Club Marin, a premier Bay Area Club that boasts one of the most popular indoor cycling programs in Northern California. 

Adam lives with his wife Robyn and their dog Tucker at the base of Mount Tamalpias, just seconds away from some of the best riding in the world.
